I wish I was more well read (or well educated?) and could offer you the resources you are looking for. What books are you reading now, and have they been helpful? Have you looked into apologetic works like Josh McDowell's "Evidence that Demands a Verdict"? I know there are a number of books along those lines, but of course I haven't read them because, well, I don't really read books ;o). I wish I could be more help, but I just want you to know that I applaud your efforts to get these thoughts out and written in some form or another. I think good things will come from this, whatever the outcome.

Wow, thank you for sharing this. I am so glad you continue to make time to write and open yourself up this way. In many ways, it's a more personal look into your heart than what we can achieve sometimes in our weekly small group meetings. And like Courtney suggested, I think just voicing your doubts and fear will do a lot in processing these thoughts and feelings...or at least help you feel less alone. I already feel closer to understanding what you're experiencing just by this one post. I'm eager to hear more from you. Who knows what will come of it, but I will always be here as your friend, to listen and understand.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your honesty Amanda. It is refreshing and, I think, the best chance you have of making peace with your doubts one way or another. I think the power of our doubts really lies in our fear of them--we are afraid to voice them, admit to them, examine them because we don't know where that will lead us. And not voicing, admitting, examining them is really what keeps us stuck. At least that has been my experience. I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts. I may be of the "doubting portions of my faith" group, but I will always count you as a dear friend regardless of your doubts or your conclusions.

How fun. Those blocks are at the Science Center here in LA. I took my class on a field trip and watched the 8th grade science teacher attempt to build an arch...for 20 minutes.
